Watching out for Whales!

Blue has partnered with WWF to help prevent collision mortality in the Mediterranean Sea. Whales and ships have shared the seas since man first learned to sail thousands of years ago. However, the sheer volume of shipping traffic worldwide now poses a grave threat to these large cetaceans. In the Mediterranean Sea alone, it is estimated that between 8 to 40 fin whales are killed every year due to collisions with ships.

Using state-of-the-art technology, Blue is working with WWF to put anti-collision systems in place to prevent accidents like these from occurring and decrease the collision mortality rate.
